Samir was born in the city of Tehran in Iran. His passion for music was obvious from the early years. He also showed talents in writing and poem and he wrote his first poem around the age of 11. His passion encouraged his mother to buy him his first instrument, a keyboard at the age of 12. A private teacher named "Farzan Mobarhan" played a major role
making Samir more passionate towards his music.
He finished middle school in Iran before moving to the United States with his family. With the help of his Uncle, "Hoshang Moaddeli", a great violinist and musician, he got more involved in the music industry in Los Angeles. He learned the traditional Persian scales and started performing at many occasions along side his uncle, not only as musician but as a singer also.
He officially started performing at a Persian club/Restaurant called "Dehkadeh" in Orange, California around the age of 17, which gave Samir a lot of valuable stage experiences as he played keyboards for many singers. He has had the chance to accompany many Persian singers on stage including late Mrs. Soosan, Ali
Nazari, Saman, Bahram Forouhar, Jahan, Late Mr. Jala Hemmati, Amir Rasaee, Parvaneh, Faezeh and many more...
He has also had the chance of going on many tours and concerts with Mrs. "Ahdieh", a very popular singer who did vocals on many Iranian movies before the revolution.
Samir's passion for singing and playing instruments wasn't his only concern. He pursued his educational Career as well. In 2003 he received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from California State University of Long
Beach.
Finishing school gave Samir the opportunity to follow his heart into the music industry more seriously than before. He started working with other musicians and put together a 6-piece band for his live performances.
His style of music varies from today's pop Persian music to the 70's and 80's hits of American songs. He recognizes "Variation" as a key to success since he is constantly performing for so many different tastes at one time. Adding his unique taste and "sweet touch" on the keyboard makes his music more desirable to hear for everyone.
Although Samir is commonly referred to as a "singer", he recognizes himself as a musician first and he favors singers who have the ability to play an instrument or do both simultaneously.
Samir is currently working on his own album. Most of the songs in this album will be Samir's own lyrics and songs. He is hoping that this album fulfills many different tastes and be worth listening to as a final project. |
